Who doesn’t love the wonderful taste of tenderly melting gelato? Especially on hot days it just provides the perfect addition to a stroll through the neighborhoods (aka graetzls) of Vienna. We collected some of our favorite parlors here for you, which are of course all located in walking distance to the graetzlhotel suites, so you don’t need to search for the right parlor near your suite!
Beware, this ice cream parlor is a highlight not only if you are vegan! Veganista was founded by the (vegan) sisters Susanna and Cecilia with the explicit goal of creating something special, which they managed to achieve. By using only organic, regional products to create unconventional flavors they managed to make a name for themselves and have already made many customers very happy. Maybe you will be among those happy customers someday?

Melanie Castillo not only runs the legendary cocktail bar Barflys in the 6th district. In her ice cream parlor in the fourth district, she also proves that cocktails and ice cream go wonderfully well together. At Castillo's Eis & Bar, the friendly boss serves up the most delicious ice creams from her own production.
She pays particular attention to an intense and authentic taste - and you can taste it! The fruit varieties all have a minimum fruit content of 50 percent. All other varieties are also incredibly tasty. Our tip: be sure to try chocolate orange, banana and blackberry!
And because Melanie Castillo can not only make good ice cream, but also excellent cocktails, she also serves great ice cream cocktails in her restaurant that you shouldn't miss out on. There are also great spritzers and homemade cakes.

As the name already says, you will find ice specialties here that will deliver instant joy. Tichy is one of the most cherished institutions of Vienna and has been delighting people since 1952. Their famous “Eismarillenknödel” (ice dumplings with apricot filling) are an integral part of Viennese culture, but the ice cream tarts and coups are more than worth trying as well. You’ll see.

Even though Daniele comes from Naples, Vienna finally has "La brioche con gelato", the Sicilian way of eating ice cream. And if the sweet ice cream sandwich isn't enough, you should order panna with it! The Bar del Gelato delights with 18 classic and unusual ice cream varieties as well as 6 varieties without added sugar and ice cream coups. As a real Italian bar, there are of course also savory snacks such as homemade tramezzini, a selection of Italian toasts, the best Napoletan espresso, aperitifs and cold drinks. With 20 seats in side and an outdoor seating area for around 50 people, it's our all-weather ice cream favorite for the ninth district.
